For this course you will need the following:

PC with 8GB RAM (You will need half the gigs for the mods)

Registered version of Minecraft in your Mojang Account. (This $26.95 will serve as your lab fee.)

Magic Launcher 1.2.5 (to manage your mods)

Build 1240 or later of the Forge client installation.

Latest universal (clientside) build of CodeChickenCore, and NotEnoughItems (NEI) installed in your instance.
